OCEANEOS CAREERS
Oceaneos will be conducting a detailed survey of the planktonic communities and chemical conditions of the Humboldt Current system off the north coast of Chile. The oceanic survey, realized with the support of the fishery industry and government, will be carried over a period of approximately 10 days and covering approximately 1500 nautical miles. Expert in Ocean Chemistry
The successful candidate will coordinate with and report to the Chief Scientist and supervise at least one technician for this unique research project.
Qualified applicants must have a Masters or Doctorate degree in the field of oceanic chemistry, or related area, with a minimum of 5 years of direct field-based work experience to apply for this position. This role will serve a critical function of developing protocols and plans for implementation of field operations, sample analysis and data processing. The deliverable from this project will be a report addressing plankton conditions off the coast of Chile in a 6 to 8 month project including 10 days ship-time in an oceanographic vessel.
Technician in Ocean Chemistry
The successful candidate will coordinate with and report to the Expert in Ocean Chemistry. Qualified applicants must have a Bachelors or Technical degree in the field of oceanic chemistry, or related area, with a minimum of 2 years of direct field-based work and 5 years of data assessment. The Technician will support the team by calibrating instruments, creating Health and Safety protocols, and assisting the Expert. The deliverable from this project will be a report addressing plankton conditions off of the coast of Chile in a 6 to 8 month project including 10 days ship-time.
